What is OM?

'Om' is the primal sound or vibration from which the entire universe constantly emanates. It is the sound of creative departure and return. (Source)

"The symbol of Om contains of three curves, one semicircle and a dot. The large lower curve symbolizes the waking state; the upper curve denotes deep sleep (or the unconscious) state, and the lower curve (which lies between deep sleep and the waking state) signifies the dream state. These three states of an individual’s consciousness, and therefore the entire physical phenomenon, are represented by the three curves. The dot signifies the Absolute (fourth or Turiya state of consciousness), which illuminates the other three states. The semicircle symbolizes maya and separates the dot from the other three curves. The semicircle is open on the top, which means that the absolute is infinite and is not affected by maya. Maya only affects the manifested phenomenon. In this way the form of Om symbolizes the infinite Brahman and the entire Universe." -WikiWiki

Yups, thanks!

The fourth state (deep-sleep-like rest in a very much awake state) is the one achieved through Mantra Yoga Meditation (which is done with a personal mantra provided by an authorized instructor, as opposed to a universal one like OM.)

Maya is the illusion that we buy into as reality- in other words, The Matrix. :)

God is not influenced by the Matrix- we are. And as we get closer to God, we start waking up from this really long dream.

Of course, most of us are still dreaming... but eventually we will all get tired of the un-filled emptiness and fooling ourselves and will one day decide to work to wake.

That path has been available to us for thousands of years. But who wants to go through the trouble?

I AM. :) That's what it literally means.

For example, 'Om Shanti' means 'I am peace.'

So it's like in the beginning of creation God just said I am, and physical existence manifested as a result.

Lo k dicen d "y el verbo se hizo carne", es igual a "y Om se volvio el universo."
