six, dogs, and rock and roll

OK, this I got from alanis.com. It was written by a guy from New York about the song Everything's lyrics. I thought it was cool, and totally agree. Enjoy.

"I remember hearing this song for the first time, and having a complete shift in who I am. Suffering from depression and a whole list of other disorders. This song really solidified for me (now and at the time) my need to be 'everything.' Every time I forget that I am "all parts" I listen to it and am reminded that I am okay. This song was that missing key for me, I always would think or feel "all parts" but when it came down to it I resisted being the ugly, fucked up, etc.. And hearing it, made the good, bad, and in-between okay for me. Thanks for sharing a song that celebrates wholeness!! so much love and gratitude!!"

EVERYTHING- Alanis Morissette
I can be an asshole of the grandest kind
I can withhold like it's going out of style
I can be the moodiest baby and you've never met anyone
Who is as negative as I am sometimes

I am the wisest woman you've ever met
I am the kindest soul with whom you've connected
I have the bravest heart that you've ever seen and you've never met anyone
Who is as positive as I am sometimes

you see everything you see every part
you see all my light and you love my dark
you dig everything of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can't relate
And you're still here

The first time I heard that song I cried. The romantic in me who is always looking to find something that could never be put into words, found a very close description of it in that song. I think that when somebody is able to see EVERYTHING and still manages to stick by you and understands the complexities of your existance, then you have found a real keeper. I want that.

yup. we have to learn to accept ourselves entirely. real love embraces it all.

tu sabes, en The Path to Love habla de eso. me encanta un exercise que Chopra pone about you having both, "good" and "bad", expressions of your characteristics. for example, you can be suuuuper sweet, but at other times you could also be mean. and one doesn't eliminate the other. it doesn't mean you're not a sweet person.
